• Effective boards depend on having the right information at the right time
• NHS boards face enormous challenges in delivering better health, better care, better value. They are running what are in effect big businesses, though with more complex accountabilities than most businesses. Too many are attempting to do so without proper information
• The Intelligent Board series of reports, produced by independent steering groups and supported by Dr Foster Intelligence, addresses this deficit, setting out the principles around a successful information culture at Board level and the minimum information requirements
