This year there are
two significant issues to assess. Firstly
the
consequences of the nGMS contract and
secondly appraisal and revalidation.
The nGMS contract and the abolition
of PGEA means that many PCOs are contending
with the issues of funding and attendance.
It is essential for the future of PLT
schemes that the meetings meet the needs
of all the users in coping with the
new contract. Also now training funds
have been passed over to practices how
can PLT schemes ensure ongoing funding?
Appraisal is now producing learning
aims for not only individuals but also
across PCOs. PLT schemes need to be
able to collate and use this information
to help with the process of revalidation
as well as with helping practices to
develop effectively.
Working
together to share learning and best
practice

or are planning to start a scheme this

to learn from the success and experience
of other PLT schemes from around the

examples and inspiration to adopt them
locally in the development of your own
scheme.
